Professional teams at all levels are looking for talent usually from 4 different tiers of criteria:

1) Measurables, Potential, Production - measurables being length, athletcism height, etc. Potential being tied to your age. Production being what your metrics say. If you have all of these, then youre very likely to translate at the next level and youll fly up the draft boards

2) Measurables, Potential - people who have the measurables and are young enough to project growth come off the board next, even without production

3) Measurables, Production - older players who have the measurables and production but not as much room for growth

4a) Measurables - players who may not have been in the right system for production, but have the measurables to translate into a role

4b) Production - players who despite the odds just produce. You can find some great players here, especially overseas.

Cone doesnt have the measurables, and he is on the back half of his college career so the potential is going down, not up. So he needs to be somewhere he can increase his production. Chris was spot on being a PG helps, because it helps his measurables. A 5'8 PG is easier to swallow than a 5'8 wing.

Without the move, and without going somewhere he could be featured, he would not have any of the 3 categories and none of the 4 tiers
